Beginning Monday, February 22nd all students in Traditional Learning, grades PK-12, will transition to in-person instruction Monday through Thursday. Fridays will remain a virtual learning day at this time.

All students who have chosen Traditional Learning will continue the Hybrid Schedule Monday, Feb 1st through Friday, February 19th. All safety protocols will remain in effect as outlined in the Greeneville City Schools Plan: Framework for Safe Reopening of Schools.

Students who have chosen the EDGE Learning Program will continue with fully online instruction.

GCS will remain on an A/B Hybrid schedule through November 20th due to the continued surge of COVID-19 cases within the community.

During the week of Thanksgiving, “A” Group students will attend in-person on Monday and will be virtual on Tuesday. “B” Group students will be virtual on Monday and in-person on Tuesday. Schools will be closed Wednesday through Friday for the Thanksgiving holidays. A decision will be announced on Tuesday, November 24th by 6 p.m. about the schedule for the week of November 30th through December 4th.

The health, safety, and wellbeing of our students and staff along with community conditions will continue to drive our decisions. Greeneville City Schools appreciates your continued support.

All students, except EDGE students, will resume the hybrid schedule on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

As previously communicated, all Greeneville City School students will learn virtually through Friday, January 15th. Greeneville High School students who have Greene Technology Center classes will have the option to attend in-person during the week of January 11th on their regularly assigned hybrid days (A group students on Monday and Tuesday and B Group students on Wednesday and Thursday). Attending GTC in-person is optional for GHS students during the week of January 11th. Students who choose to attend in-person during this week will be required to provide their own transportation.

All students, except EDGE students, will resume the hybrid schedule on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. Monday, January 18, 2021 is a holiday and there is no school. Students in the “A” group will attend in-person on Tuesday January 19th and students in the “B” group will attend in-person on Wednesday and Thursday, January 20th and 21st. The normal hybrid schedule will begin on Monday, January 25th with A Group students attending in-person on Monday and Tuesday and B Group students attending on Wednesday and Thursday with Fridays continuing to be a virtual learning day for all students.

Our School Nutrition Team will continue to offer curbside meal pickup service for all children in the community 18 years old and younger when schools are in session. Meals may be picked up at either Hal Henard Elementary School or at Greeneville High School between 11:00 am and 12:30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Effective Monday, Sept 28, GCS will begin an A/B Hybrid Schedule

Effective Monday, September 28th, all students who have chosen in-person learning will begin operating on an A/B Hybrid Schedule. Students will be divided into an “A” group and a “B” group. Individual schools will send a notification on Monday, Sept 14th alerting parents/guardians of the group to which students are assigned.

Students assigned to the “A” group will attend school in-person on Mondays and Tuesdays. Students assigned to the “B” group will attend school in-person on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Students will continue to complete assignments and watch teacher posted videos online on days in which they are not scheduled to attend in-person.

Students and staff will follow the safety protocols outlined within our GCS Framework for Safe Reopening of Schools.

Given the current conditions within our community, we believe this plan provides the safest environment for students and staff while providing a quality educational experience. As a reminder, throughout the year plans may be altered for the safety of students and staff.
