Welcome to Tusculum View!

I am extremely proud to have the opportunity to serve the students, parents, teachers, and community of Tusculum View Elementary School. Our school is an extraordinary place!  Students are shrouded with high expectations and quality instruction from our dedicated faculty. Their hard work, collaboration, content knowledge, love for children, and positive attitudes combine to make school very successful for students!

Along with high expectations are high levels of support. Teachers and staff members are relentless in their efforts to ensure students achieve and grow. Our RTI interventionists provide daily support to help students close learning gaps, Tiger Time allows students remediation and enrichment time, and daily classroom instruction from our teachers focuses on meeting students where they are in their learning journey and propelling them forward. In addition to a phenomenal staff, our school is blessed with the support of our GSIA parent organization. They provide many opportunities for our students that would not possible without their hard work and dedication to making Tusculum View the best school around!

Tusculum View also focuses on Fine Arts and the impact music and art play in the development of the whole child. This is evidenced by the multiple musical and theatrical performances our Choral department stages each year. Our Art department also provides students with exposure to multicultural experiences and allows students to create and display their artistic designs.

Safety is a top priority at Tusculum View.  Staff members strive daily to provide a safe environment for learning. The school’s Safety Initiative helps to ensure safety for all students. Thank you for your understanding when we ask for your car tag or your driver’s license. Please know that we will do whatever it takes to keep your child safe.

Tusculum View is very blessed to have many exceptional tools to aid in the academic success of students. First through fifth grade students have their own laptop to use as a tool for learning, and third through fifth grade students can take these devices home. Students are finding that learning is fun when teachers require students to use the devices as a part of their instruction. Teachers also use IPADS, IPODS, and Box Light Boards to enhance instructional content throughout the day.

As literacy continues to be a focus, we’ve made huge strides to challenge students to achieve at higher levels. Student data is collected and progress is tracked in reading. Teachers are utilizing research-based instructional strategies and materials to maximize student growth in literacy, and their growth has been remarkable.

I believe that education gives us all power to change the world around us.  We can make our lives better and share our knowledge to help our neighbors (even in another state or country!). I love to see the “light bulb” shine when a student finally gets it!  What a joy to experience students who think they can’t be successful but are because of their hard work and the patience and dedication of a teacher. It is an honor to spread “can do” attitudes and hope, build dreams and watch them unfold, and light the torch of the next generation of educators here in Greeneville. Each student, parent, and adult represented at Tusculum View plays a vital role in making Tusculum View successful, and I am extremely grateful to the entire Tusculum View community for the way you continue to support us, our teachers and our students through your time, donations, and uplifting praise. Your continued support means more to us than words can ever express!

Go Tigers!
