Please view the attached image for this week's schedule of GMS athletic events. Girls' basketball tryouts begin on Monday, October 14th and Boys' basketball tryouts begin on Tuesday, October 17th. Wrestling will begin on Wednesday, October 16th.

Greeneville City Schools’ staff will return on Monday, October 14, 2024, for a day of professional development with students returning to school on a regular schedule on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Plans are in place, according to the health department guidelines for food service establishments, for the school cafeterias to safely provide breakfast and lunch each day. We will also provide bottled water to students each day until the boil water notice is lifted. In coordination with the Greene County EMA, there is a contingency plan to provide bottled water for an extended period of time should the boil water notice persist. If parents wish to send additional water for their students, please make sure the bottles are sealed and do not leak. We look forward to resuming normal operations and seeing the return of our amazing students and staff.

GMS Teachers and Staff. Please join us as we send-off, Maggie Moore, tomorrow at 9:15 a.m. at Greeneville Middle School. Maggie will be competing in the TMSAA State Championships in Clarksville, TN on Saturday. This will be held at Greeneville Middle School in the front parking lot for those are able to join us.

We will have additional donations available for families in need during our meal pickups! When you come to pick up your meals, we will be handing out bottled water at cars. If you are in need of additional supplies such as wipes, diapers, toiletries, hygiene products, toilet paper, or other items, please park across from NPAC and walk to the GHS cafeteria. We will have staff available to assist those who need help carrying supplies to their cars. The meal pickup will take place on Friday, October 4, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Greeneville High School. Please follow the traffic plan provided, entering from Niswonger Avenue and exiting onto Palmer Street. Our staff will be onsite to direct traffic and assist you. We look forward to serving you and providing these additional resources to our families!

We are pleased to announce that weekend meal pickups will take place on Friday, October 4, at Greeneville High School. Families can pick up meals between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM at the designated curbside area at GHS. We have enough supplies to provide meals for the entire weekend, covering breakfast and lunch. To help ensure a smooth process, we will be rerouting traffic around the back of GHS to avoid congestion on Tusculum Blvd. Please enter from Niswonger Avenue and follow the directions of our staff, who will be onsite to guide traffic. The exit will be onto Palmer Street, as shown in the map. 

We would like to express our gratitude for your patience during today’s meal service. Thanks to your support, we successfully served over 2,800 meals! Your cooperation is greatly appreciated as we work to improve our process and keep things moving smoothly. Starting with our next meal distribution at noon on Wednesday, we will be rerouting traffic around the back of Greeneville High School to avoid congestion on Tusculum Blvd. Please follow the directions of our staff, who will be on-site to guide traffic. The attached map shows the updated traffic flow, entering from Niswonger Avenue and exiting onto Palmer Street. Boys Basketball Tryouts: Tryouts for the GMS 2024-25 Boys Basketball team will begin on October 15th in the gym. You must have a CURRENT PHYSICAL on file before you will be allowed to participate.

GMS Athletics, Volleyball Update: The GMS away Volleyball game scheduled for today, 9-26-24, has been canceled due to inclement weather.

GMS Athletics, Update Due to school being closed today, 09-26-2024, the GMS home Football game will be cancelled. The administration team will work to come up with a plan to honor our 8th grade Football student athletes at a later date.

GMS Athletics, XC Congratulations to Maggie Moore. Last night, Maggie finished 1st place and was the TMSAA Sectional Champion! With the first-place finish, Maggie will compete in the TMSAA State Championships. Go Devils!
